About Hospice Care Ottawa
Our goal is to enhance the quality of end-of-life care and provide comfort to those on life’s most difficult journey. Right from diagnosis with a life-limiting illness, we are there to provide support through our community programs (Day Hospice, and in-home volunteer visitor support) through to 24-hour care at one of our two residential hospices, through to death, and grief, bereavement, caregiver and family support throughout the journey and beyond.
Programs are offered at no cost to individuals we serve and their families. Fundraising events like Hike for Hospice Care Ottawa and key support from corporate community partners like you, helps to ensure we can continue to serve people living with a life-limiting illness and their families – approximately 1,000 people annually.
Background on Hike for Hospice Care Ottawa
Hike for Hospice is an annual tradition across Canada that celebrates the arrival of spring. After three years, Hike for Hospice Care Ottawa will return to in person, at Carleton University (1125 Colonel By Drive). Starting at the Field House, the 5 km hike will stroll along the beautiful campus trails, returning to Field House for refreshments and closing ceremonies. We welcome all age groups and we encourage you to form a team and participate with family and friends. Individuals are welcome too, and we know you’ll meet some amazing people.
Registration starts and 8:30 a.m. and we'll embark on our hike at 10:00 a.m., then return to the Field House for celebration and comradery. New this year, our top two sponsorship levels will allow for a booth opportunity at the event, and we encourage all sponsors to gather your colleagues, and put in a team for Hike for Hospice Care Ottawa and join with our community the day of as well.

Hike for Hospice Care Ottawa is our largest community gathering of the year.
- We typically have 150+ people participate as fundraisers, and over 300 people attend on the day of.
- Last year the virtual event raised $210,200.
- This year our goal is $225,000.
- Funds are raised on an online fundraising page that typically collects approximately 1,700 donations and is visited by 2,000+ people.
- This year we will be launching a new fundraising portal which will ensure user friendliness, and maximum exposure to celebrate our amazing corporate sponsor partners, including social sharing which promises to increase our audience and exposure for your brand.
