I am hiking for hospice in loving memory of my dad, John Ramsey.
He was tired of being in the hospital and wanted to be home. This was my first experience with hospice and I was awed by how patient and family centered this care is. I remain deeply grateful for the work they did to ensure my dad’s wishes were fulfilled to die at home. Hospice will always hold a very special place in my heart.
The government does not fully fund hospice and palliative care. To continue their vital programs and services, Hospice Care Ottawa relies on the generosity of donations and community events to help raise more than $2 million annually.
