It is that time of year again! Star Wars Day! If you are able please donate to our Hike for Hospice and share with your friends. Hospice provides many services to folks with life limiting illnesses and their families free of charge. Support can start as soon as a person is diagnosed and there are a variety of programs that people have available to them. Unfortunately, the government does not cover all of the costs so we are left to fundraise over $2million a year. Your donation will go towards a fun day for a person to enjoy lunch and laughter with a group of other folks who are kind of having the same experience they are which can be so supportive - the key word here is laughter, so much laughter! Many of you know I started my journey with Hospice Care Ottawa as a volunteer in the Day Hospice program and it was so much fun! Funds raised also go towards grief support for families who have said good-bye to their loved ones, caregivers night out where they caregiver is treated to an evening of laughter, support and a tasty meal, in-home visitors and end of life care which takes place in one of our (soon to be) three residences where the person and their family are surrounded by care, support and laughter.
