Hospice Care Ottawa provides support for individuals with life-limiting illnesses and their families. The government provides some funding for hospice and palliative care, but not enough to cover all of the costs, so HCO relies on donations and community events to help raise over $2 million annually. I joined Hospice Care Ottawa as a volunteer because I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. I have seen personally how grateful residents and their families are for hospice care. It is a loving, humane environment where people can spend their final days, weeks or months. You can make a difference as well by funding me on this Hike for Hospice Care.
